Twelve Stones Farm
We are a small, first-generation grass-fed sheep operation that operates solely on leased property. Our goal is to produce high-quality breed stock and meat shares on grass or forage-based supplements (like hay, pumpkins, alfalfa, etc.). Our sheep are never vaccinated and live on pasture year-round—providing mobile shelter or windbreaks only as needed. We rotationally graze our ewe flock daily, and our ram flock every other day. While aiming to achieve complete organic production free of chemical dewormers and grain, we also aren't willing to let our animals suffer at the expense of an ideology. So we intervene with chemical dewormers only as needed, or when the alternatives didn't work, and only treat the animals that need it—never the whole flock. At certain times of the year, we may also temporarily supplement with a protein tub or grain according to nutritional needs and poor forage availability (i.e. dead of winter and ewes need weight for breeding). Our sheep are fed 100% on pasture during the growing season (April-October), and then fed hay through the winter. Any grain fed is only a small portion of their total diet. As we continue to refine our management practices, improve soil fertility and forage quality, we hope to completely any and all use of chemical dewormers, protein tubs, and grain rations. We are a small dairy that focuses on animal welfare, first by leaving the calves with their mothers for at least 4 months after birth. We also feed no grain to our cows, only grass, hay and silage. It’s healthier for the cows and makes healthier milk and the products we make from it.

Cottage Pastures is a First-Generation American Farm located near Vevay, Indiana (Southeastern Indiana). We specialize in the production of seed and culinary garlic, pasture-raised meat and homesteading / family farm events. We ship garlic and meat nationwide in the continental United States. Our chicken and pork is raised on a diet consisting primarily of organic grains (soy-free). We source our grains from a certified organic feed mill which delivers directly to the farm. Our meat comes from animals which are not vaccinated, do not receive antibiotics or hormones. We believe movement across pasture and woods is important to raising healthy animals. Our garlic is raised naturally without synthetic herbicides, fungicides or any other synthetic chemicals we would not want to include in our own family's diet. We rotate garlic plantings to different ground each season to support soil health and to grow the best quality seed and culinary garlic we can. We are located in Southeastern Indiana and can ship nationwide within the continental United States. We are a first-generation family farm.
