localFoddr is yours
27 November 2025
localFoddr grows in the direction the community pulls it, through initiative, creativity and the simple act of telling others it exists.
Most platforms are built from the top down – committees, teams, budgets, strategies.
localFoddr isn’t like that. It was never meant to be like that.

It is something different: a tool that only becomes powerful when the people who believe in real food decide to run with it.
The directory may be built and maintained by me, but the mission belongs to everyone who wants to see local meat, seafood, eggs, and dairy made visible again.
localFoddr is yours.
Not symbolically. Not in spirit. In reality.
Because a directory is only useful when the people using it help shape it.
We need hundreds of thousands of listings to reflect what’s really out there
Millions of small suppliers exist across the world, and many find it hard to connect with the customers who value their products. localFoddr is simply a way to help them be discovered and supported.

And here’s the important part: suppliers add themselves.
You’re not uploading for them. You’re not managing their listings. You’re simply helping them discover a place where they can be found.
That can happen one person at a time, or as teams. Quietly or loudly. Through community groups or private messages. Through creative ideas no one has thought of yet.
This isn’t a campaign. It’s not a strategy. It’s a community that can scale faster than anything a marketing budget could buy – if people choose to pick up the baton.
There’s no right or wrong way to grow it. No process to follow. No permission to ask.
If you care about reconnecting people with real food, you already know what to do – and if you don’t, you’ll invent it.
localFoddr becomes what you make of it
It grows in the direction you pull it. It reaches as far as your imagination, your region, your networks, your conversations, your creativity.
The platform is built.
The door is open.
The rest is up to you.
If you want a simple place to start – before you run with your own ideas – you’ll find it here: How you can help.
